I recieved a Solo Titanium from Spyderco which I found to be blunt. I send it back and got a replacement. It was a bit sharper but not up to my standards. I guess I am use to my Global kitchen knifes.I do like the feel of the Solo and bought it for the sole purpose of cutting fruit and veggies and not reacting to the blade. Can someone give me advice on how to sharpen this titanium knife?

Hi Kitchen Freak. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

Sorry you are having trouble with the edge on the Titan piece. They sharpen up easily and quickly on a Spyderco Triangle or you could use any on your normal methods. They will get fairly sharp (not a sharp as steel though) nor will they stay as sharp as steel. Good for apples, potatoes, etc. though...no brown stain after they sit.

I have a Solo Ti Santoku and it is fantastic. It gets VERY sharp and holds a decent edge, particularly if used on a white plastic cutting board. Some of the hard wood cutting boards will make it dull rather quickly, though. I use my regular spyderco Santoku for everything in the kitchen, but my wife likes the smaller size of the Solo better, so she mainly uses it. Both are great knives, though, and I accomplish 99% of all my kitchen work with them.
