"Solstice"

Fantastic piece. Love your modern/traditional fusions, and that is an absolutely killer hamon.

That's a winner bud. Cool details on the guard a spacer.

Man, you're killin' that stainless San Mai....I know of several other knives that would go famously with buddy!!!

That's a winner, Ben.

Lovely hamon, probably one of my favorites of your work that I have seen to date.

The handle shaping is damn fine.

Beautiful piece  I'm just curious Ben .. is the tang San Mai or just (fully) 416?

Beautiful! I love the compunding effect the hamon has with the san mai. Also the little details that bring this knife together.

I have one question though. How would the zirconium guard handle a blade chopping into it? Would the zirconium guard stand up to it?

Although I haven't done blade to blade combat;) I think it would compare to a stainless steel guard...possibly better since it has a very hard and slippery surface.

Maybe I am completely mistaken but i always thought zirconium was so hard to the point of it being brittle.

Only on the surface...just a few thousandths. Below that it's pretty soft.

Amazing blade, Ben! Do I sense that you and Claudio Cas are kindred spirits?
