The Becker BK9 is a little big to belt carry. This allows me to sling it over my shoulder towards my back to carry out of the way. And to take off my body to easily access the storm matches or BK13 in the sheath
This is put together from stuff I had laying around. Scrap piece of 1/4 " Lexan from work , mini shackles I think I bought at hobby lobby and a shoulder strap I have use on a few things

Nice rigging idea.
Thanks I think it came out good since it is made from scrap and things I had laying around. I picked up a couple pieces of the lexan from scraps at work, there are o rings between the lexan and shackle to keep down rattle . Those come from a lab faucet rebuild kit from work the washer go bad every time I turn around the orings in the faucet rarely fail so I have a bunch of them, that I throw away when I clean out my tool box . I bought the shackles for another project and didn't end up using them . The strap is from a Topeak trunk bag

Great idea how’s it work.
Shoulder sling bags and such always bounce around and bother me. I’ve never tried a knife though.

I’m in the same boat as you TB. Hate stuff bouncing around on me, but like you I’ve never tried it with a knife. Curious as to how plumberroy feels about it when in use. Inquiring minds...

The shackles allow it to pivot to hang down straight. I wore it around doing yard chores this weekend and didn't notice it bouncing much. You could always the on strap on the sheath to hold to molle to hold it to your belt. To keep it from bouncing around like a tie down on a shoulder holster

Here’s a thought. If you prefer a leather strap option you should look into firefighter radio straps. Usually made of leather but sometimes made from other materials such as paracord or used firehose. They are adjustable and come with lobster clips to hold the radio case. If taken care if they will last you a lifetime or longer.

Plus there are so many guys making them on facebook, that most likely there’s a guy in your neighborhood that makes them.
