Solvang Show..report?

one of you knuts had to have been to this show..what with that maker list
lets here about it..I do know that Gene Shadley won best in show..I had the priveledge of a sneak preview of a knife he was presenting ..solid rose gold senator fully engraved by Simon Lytton inlaid with a dozen or so diamonds..someone here must have a pic and report!

I was unable to make it to the show, which is only two and a half hours away, but I asked Daniel Winkler to send me a picture or two of some of the stuff he was taking with him.

I was there Saturday. It was great as usual. I bought a small mid-lock PJ Tomes folder that seemed pretty good. I talked to Chris Reeve and he agreed to make me a 2005 large left hand Sebenza inlaid with mammoth ivory.

I wasn't there, but Ron Newton told me it was a great show. He took five knives and they sold in a few minutes after the doors opened. If you check out my thread on Ron's knives you will find pictures of three of the knives he took to Solvang there.

I was there saturday and liked most of what I saw. There's a "but" though, there were a few makers whose blades were not ground symetrically and some folders with the blades not centered in the handle when closed...In my opinion that's just not good enough!
