How To SOLVED - - - Military 1 vs Military 2 - - Scales and Hardware

Folks,

Are there differences in the factory scales, scale screws, or pocket clip screws for the Military 1 model compared to the newer Military 2 ?

Thinking of purchasing scales and screws for a Military 1 to do a swap, but don't know if I need to specify the version during my search for parts.

There’s actually 3 different versions. The old school with the screwed in stop pin/liner lock/triangle clip. The next iteration was the CQI with the floating stop pin/liner lock/triangle clip. Now you have the Military 2 with the compression lock/screwed in stop pin/hourglass clip/tip up version.

Other than blade shape your military 2 is basically a completely different knife compared to the regular military.

Looked at some more photos.

One scale on the 2 has a big cutout, so it won't work.

So looking only for Military 1 replacement scales and screws - maybe.

This is why I am a biochemist, and not an engineer.

I just ordered a set of inlaid micarta scales for CQI military from RC Bladeworks. He doesn’t make scales for pre CQI versions as far as I know! Suingab makes scales for original military (non floating stop pin and small lanyard tube) the last time I checked, but that was over a year ago. If you have a newer CQI military, I’d be happy to give you the red G10 scales off my St Nicks exclusive, IF the new scales work out! I’ve carried the knife a lot but the scales are in good shape overall. Hope this info helps!
