Sorry for my english, I need a precise measurement about the Spyderco Techno 2. I don't have the chance to test it for myself before I pull the trigger.

Here's a pic of the measurement I need :

I need it in mm (milimeter) and as precise as possible, since I'm from Europe and very bad at numbers. :(

Second, I'm curious how you'd call that part of a knife ? Finger real estate ? Finger estate ? Finger placement ? What's your best word for it ? :D

Edit : I got the informations from elsewhere. It's 7,4 cm and the part is called the grip area.

I do not have one to measure for you, sorry.

The CM is a good measurement, but a really precise measurement would be in MM’s just a suggestion.

You should double up your chances on a quick answer and post your question over in the Spyderco Forum too.

Best of luck to you.

I updated the OP to reflect the changes you suggested, thanks a lot !

I'll make a double post on the Spyderco forums.

I don't have one, but assuming the specification data and images on Spyderco's site are correct: ~72mm.

EDIT to explain:

If you cut out the closed knife from the image on the Spyderco product page and resize it to 880 pixels wide (Spyderco listed it at 88mm closed) and then clip out the section you have indicated, it comes out to around 720 pixels = 72mm).

Again, this assumes the data and images presented by Spyderco are reasonably accurate.

That's smart, but like I said, I'm not that good with numbers. I wouldn't have figured by myself, but that's a technique I'll use in the future.

I got the informations from elsewhere (@Larry_Mott) and it's closer to 74mm.

So you're saying I'm off by 2mm based on an approximation from a jpeg on a vendor website? I'm calling that a win . . .

So now that you know how big that part of the knife is, is it big enough?

He needed "very precise" measurement for his purchase decision?? [deletes 72, enters 74 into CAD model]
