Could be a burr or other debris in the pivot. Use what you like best and trust to try to remove and clean it. I use running hot water and soap.....but like everything go with what you know and trust...not what i like to do.

If not that check for too much lock tite, that got into the pivot. Had an issue on one of mine because of that.

Lastly if no burrs or other debris stuck...wear it in. Many openings and closings. Had a couple Emerson that broke in smooth from just that.

Mineral oil or something like Tuf-Glide should smooth it up. Clean it out and you should be okay. PM's are notorious to be buttery smooth.

This seems to come and go...can't figure it out. If I take it apart, it will be fine for a few hours then start up again. It never does it if compression lock is fully open and blade is free swinging. Any ideas?
Try taking a pencil to the detent ball, or on the grove in the blade left by the detent ball. you may as well just do both :D
