Hey,

I'm getting a custom 110 soon (BG-42, brass bolsters, possibly Indigo scales. I'll also add an aftermarket One-arm Bandit). I've been looking at the different options and trying to select one. I have a couple of questions though.

1. If you don't get rivets, how are the scales held on? Do the bolsters have pins that join the scales?

2. Does anyone have the Indigo Royalwood? I'd love to see a different picture (rather than the order form one).

Thanks guys.
Dan

All of the 110's I have, have pinned scales. I would say that the scales are epoxied on if you did not get pins. There still should be one pin holding the locking bar between the liners or it could be put in under the scales so it does not show. These are possibilities, but I can't be positive.

I have several 110's with & without the scale rivets. I prefer any stag, bone, etc. not to have the rivets. I remember reading a post awhile ago that the scales without rivets are epoxied on. Haven't had a problem with any 'none riveted' scales 'falling off'! And if yours fall off, Buck would make good with putting 'em back on...with rivets if you wished! :D
Can't help you out with a pix of one with the Indigo Royalwood scales though. Hope you plan on posting a pix of yours when available! Good luck with your custom!

Thanks Clydetz and Razorback.

I decided against the Indiglo.

I'm now getting BG-42 with riveted Cherrywood. The Red makes it look like a SAK scout knife, and it goes good with nickel bolsters. I also could go for a rear bolster engraving of my last name or my initials.

You'll be happy with the cherry wood. I have a limited edition vanguard and skinner, it's good looking wood. It's real rich looking. Good choice!
