Looking for some more guidance regarding the Shapton Glass Stones. A few months ago, I purchased the 500 and 2000 so keep that in mind.
BTW, Thanks everyone for all the help you gave me on picking which stones to start out with. It was a huge help and I learned a lot.

I’ve now been using the 500/2K Combo for a couple months and I’m really liking them. I love the feedback and the feel of the stones. I’m able to get a great edge that will easily and cleanly slice newspaper and shave some arm hair. Plenty for what I need. But, I like learning and progressing so I want to add another finer grit stone to try out.
My thinking is to skip the 4K stone and jump up to the 6K. Not seeing how there would be that much of a discernable difference between the 2K and 4K? But would jumping from 2K to 8K be too much on the Shapton Glass stones? I’m thinking it might be and I should go with the 6K. But, I wanted to get some advice before spending the money. These suckers are not that cheap!
Thanks in advance for any help.
