Sorry for the lowesy photos but I am still learning how to use the camera in the best way.
Got my Custom 119 from Joe Houser today and these are 2 views that I could get:

And one more. I think I am using too much light or maybe I should turn off my flash on the camera?

I'll take it!!...Congratulations, pictures are good enough to see that's a NICE 119, another well done project from Joe H. and Buck Knives:cool:

Thats a nice 119!
Excellent work Joe and Buck knives!
I like the extra spacers in the handle!
Maybe a prototype for a 2007 L.E.? :D:D:D
I wish!

...Very nice 119...I especially like that the handle size appears proportioned correctly for the size of the 119 blade...Congrats on a fine knife Ron (muzzleup) and great job again Mr. Houser...:D

Ron -
Beautiful 119.,, and I've seen much worse pictures.

You can generally get much nicer pics w/o using flash. Is is too harsh, Especially on real shiny objects. Try natural indirect / diffused light like you would have outdoors on a cloudy or overcast day. If you must use flash, try bouncing it off a white wall or ceiling.

You can also enhance a poor quality pic with a paint prog. I use a program called Paint Shop Pro v4.12 shareware. It's small, free, and can still be found on the Web. It has a setting called "Gamma Correction" that will illuminate dark pics. My monitor (an IBM G96) is very dark; so I have to lighten everything. I can't even read tang stamps on eBay without saving to HDD and Gamma correcting... :grumpy:

Thanks all of you Buckoholics for you kind responces to my crummy photography. The blade is so highly polished that I can even see part of my face in the blade when I was taking the pictures.
WOW, that Joe can do some filework and the knife if also very sharp. I am still waiting for Joe's responce to my query about the sheat having been forgotten when the knife was shipped but I am sure he will make it up to me!

Maybe I will try a picture with the flash turned off and if it turns out I will post it also.

Thanks again all

Hey Ron...
I turn the flash off and use a night setting on my digi cam. Gotta have decent room lighting though.
If I were to order that knife, what would the blade description be?
And, am curious, how much did that beauty cost?

Buckaholic,
The Custom model 119 did not cost ME anything. It is the one that I won on the Buck Collectors contest.
How to describe the blade?. The COA describes it as "It is a model 119 Special with a mirror polished, 420HC stainless steel blade with custom file work" It is stamped BUCK,119,USA on the right hand side. Following the model number is the date code for 1997. The handle is black charcoal diamond wood with spacers of aluminum and black micarta. The pommel and gueard are polished aluminum.

All of the above information is included on the CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY that came with the knife in a "limited edition" box.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures.
