I don't know if this is the right place for this but here it is anyway. Anyone that has any info or comment is welcomed. If you prefer to e-mail me it is gunnut2506@yahoo.com. Thanks to this site I now see that maybe I have been a Buck accumulator that is now on my way to be a Buck collector.:)

Hi Craig,

Welcome to the Buck forum! I'd say you are already a Buck knife collector. I have always loved the stag 192 set, not a lot of us here that like blade cut outs...I sure do;). The SPA treatment at Buck will cost $7 and they cover the return shipping on you 112, that knife was made in 1972 and was the third version, the three line stamp is the hardest one of the 1972 micarta 112's to find . Send it in for a face lift as it's a good find IMHO.

The only problem with the 112 is when closed the tip is out of the handle. Is there anyway they can fix that with out replacing the blade? How do I go about getting it done?

Send it to Buck with a note on what you want done. Tell them "hay Buck, I have this nice 112 with some issues, Please fix the blade closing problem, and give her a SPA treatment, Please buff out the handles, don't change the blade just clean it up and remove the scratch's". As this one has the blade issue they may do all the work under warranty. Look at the Buck web site for the address, send it attention Joe Houser and label it BKI not Buck Knives Inc as the shipping service folks like knives also. Post photo's of the knife upon return!

Post a shot of the 112 with the blade closed.

Nice bunch of knives already. The tip up on your 112 when closed is an easy fix. Getting the scratches out will be the harder. Your 107 is from 1976 and the 110 is 1990 mfg.. DM

hi craig on picture 4 your damascus . it looks like its peeled off if you understand my wording. Is that correct my 2 brown bone seem to have the damascus lines all the way through like on your opposite side of your knife.

I know what you mean. I have some custom Damascus knives and they are closer to the same on both sides. I just figured it just turned out that way when they did the finishing grinding on the blade.
