Well, since David Brown is a such a nice guy that is local to me and a darn good kydex maker to boot, I figured I would show off some of the rigs I've scored from him recently. Don't mind my amateur shots.

Keep up the good work Dave! Who needs leather anyways! Just kidding, I love the Chuddy Bear, Armorall and MikeyMoto leather I've got too. Those will get their own thread some other time though.

Those are some awesome rigs/sheaths you've got Tim. I like the piggy back setups soooo much. I need pants for 3or4 of my knives, now you've got me thinking. Do you have to send your knives off, or just order them for specific knives. I like the looks of that kydex too, tough and maintenence free.

D762, it depends on whether it is a knife he has on hand or not as to whether you have to send it in or not. Dave has an impressive collection on hand for making sheaths though. However if you have something he doesn't it is worth it to me to send it in though as then you know it was made with your knife for your knife. All you have to do is email him and he'll take good care of you.

I got familiar with kydex carrying a cold steel carbon V SRK when I was over in Iraq before I could afford a Busse. Since then I have learned to really like the flexibility kydex offers over leather. For example, any one of my BAD/High Street/SS4/Meaner/GW sheaths can be mounted horizontal behind my back, traditional vertical carry on the belt, inside the waistband or upside down below my belt for easy reach with a t-shirt/jacket over it. Also, I can switch from left to right, blade forward or blade backward all with a Philips screwdriver. My leather sheaths pretty much serve the function they are designed for with limited flexibility if any plus they are thicker and heavier most of the time.

Piggyback setups are great. The BWM & High Street combo still weighs less than the NMFBM LE setup by itself.

Looks like I'm going to have to e-mail him. I also need one for my FBMLE and NMFBM and a HFSHSE. I really like the piggy back setup though. How do you like the open spine for your BWM beings it longer. Do you prefer it over a regular sheath due to its length.

The open spine is very nice because you just push the knife forward after you unsnap it. If you wanted it mounted on your belt then it is perfect because you can't really pull the mistress' vertically out of a sheath all that comfortably at waistband level since the tec-lok puts the end of the handle halfway to your armpit. You can also dangle the open spine, which I plan to do with the one for my NMFBM as that one just seems too big to mount comfortably at the waistline for me and I'm 6'2.

I would mention the piggyback part if that is what you wanted as he can match up the holes in the position you wanted it stacked. Having the small knife angled slightly out back is easier to grab than vertical unless you have some 550 to pull on.

Sounds good bro thanks for the imfo, you've got some nice knives and rigs setup there. Have a good one. :)
