Some comments on "tactical" vs "utility"

I am very new to knives, but one thing I notice abt Spyderco knives is that they are all designed for "using" or "work", and in this respect they perform well for their prices.

When other makers sell "tactical" knives, I find that these knives are more or less useless for utility/work. For instance, those knives that have a big guard for the index finger(desirable in tactical knives) don't allow one to choke up on the handle to do actually do "work". Most Syderco knives allow one to put the index finger very near to the edge for better control.

In any case, while this is good for those who buy Spyderco knives for "work", it sort of leaves out in the cold those who want a Spyderco knife for "tactical" use. And "tactical" is an honest, legitimate requirement, we all know this, but there's no need to say this, as one must be politically correct.

In short, let me say that I am very happy that Spyderco is coming out with the MBC line. Some other knives may look interesting, but I want to trust my fingers to this company.

If the company makes knives that do "work" so well, perhaps it can make knives that perform "tactically" just as well.

SYK,
Thanks for your comments. Spydercos are great working knives. But, tactical too.
The Police, Military, Starmate, even the Wegner are tactical enough for me.
