Firstly a few Nessies are upcoming. Stock removal, 01, 3/32 thick. True Nessies. Nice thin blades.

Second, I'm modding a few Bolos. The first one is a Tramontina Machete Bolo. I rehandled it, brought the edge to the handle, and convexed it. Its a present for my buddy, whose machete I ruined when I first started modding knives. (You guys remember that time. I've learned all this stuff here.) Also, the Kitchen Knife set is his too. Thats paduk and g10.

Lastly I've been sent 4 Martindale #2 goloks to mod. This is the before pic, and my inspiration. The inspiration is a mod done by Mike Stewart of BRKT. I've contacted Mike and asked if he minded me doing something similar, and was given the go ahead. Thanks Mike (and um, awesome work bro)!!!!

Dude, slow down!!

As a craftsman, it's better to fade away, than burn out!!

Oh. Nevermind.;)

Yep. You know, one of em is yours too! Thank You Pacific Blue!!!!!!

Love what you did with the Golok; what did you use for the handle, and where can I get some?

I know you'll probably wanna clean 'em up, but I think those nessmuks would look great with that "just forged" look, once assembled and sharpened at least.

The modded Golok is Mike Stewart's work. I saw a thread about someone copying his mod here: http://www.jerzeedevil.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19330

So I contacted Mike and asked if he minded me doing a similar one. Mike is great folk. He's been a big influence on my edges, and he is very supportive every time I bug him with some newb question.

So, just to be clear. The pic of the green mikarta handled golok above is NOT my work. Mine will be similar though.

You can get mikarta at Texas Knifemaker.

CS, I finish ground three last night. I cleaned em up significantly, but left evidence of the forge scale. I, like you, find it appealing. And it seems to go hand in hand with the Nessmuk style.

Andy
Pls show us the after pic of the golok :) and thanks in advance ;)
