Just some custom work by my brother. After making knives for family and friends he has started recently making knives for paying customers
this is the first WSK he did for me. I however being the knife nut that I am ended up selling it in order to buy more knives
!
This is one he recently made for a fire fighter in Texas who wanted a heavy duty / heavy use blade for work and play.
This last one was just a side project of his done just for kicks but is currently up on Ebay.
The WSK and the Bowie were made out of 1095HC 1/2 inch stock. In fact in the case of the Bowie you have to be a regular John Wayne to carry that monster and you better hope you hit what your'e aiming at or look out
! The damm thing is 18 inches long in total.
With the WSK's it was really a matter of wanting in both cases fully functional hard use knive's that would last as long as the user. The Bowie was just his take on hateing fantasy knives and wanting to make a large Bowie that one would actually be able to use without it breaking or warping like all the big 420j Pakistani specials:jerkit: .
He likes working with 1/2 inch as not many knife makers out there go this thick but he does do other widths. In fact right now he's working on a little 1/4 inch three inch drop point blade.
