The two CPK knives were only used to cut fresh branches, as reported.

Bounus: GSO 4.5 magnacut fail, chipping during light batoning.
“It happened within 10min of unboxing” he said.
This happened a good while back, the chipped edge image expired so I can’t use it.
This is after resharpening, I’ll ask him to send me the photo of the chip later

Survive! Knives is dead and buried- Guy Seiferd’s products are old news.

Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist however is a friend of these forums and I’m sure would like to know about what you’re experiencing.
Edited to add: never mind, Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist - seems like the source is dubious at best.

I have lots of questions, myself, but my personal experience with CPK DV3 has been nothing short of amazing. I’ll let more experienced experts comment.

These are not my knives, as I said these information are from my friends in china.

You send me any knife you want & I will ruin it test it right out of the box within minutes.

These knives are owned by four separate people.
I don’t know about the GSO 6, but I know the owners of the other knives, they were not abusing these knives when they got damaged.
Batoning/splitting with a low flat grind or so called scandi grind is intended use.

Weird coincidence that you know all these folks who break knives but aren't able to come on here and explain the circumstances themselves.

That tiny chip? Good grief. A million reasons that can happen. Great, every time your friend gets a nick in an edge here you are letting everyone know. Amazingly, crap happens to the edge when using knives, things can be embedded in wood, knives can contact the ground/rock.

Not all of the knife people have good english/have baldeforums account/are interested in doing so, but some did talk to me.

yeah that could be the cause and I told him so.
This individual prefers INFI after these experiences.
I did tell him that it is very unlikely because delta 3v is not tough enough, but you know that’s his opinion.

Why include the cpk in this thread? That is the weakest example of "damaged". The survive, fine, call them out. They can't figure out the proper orientation to cut blanks out of sheets.

Like a cry for attention.

I liked noss tests, these "tests" from your friend in China? Not so much.

We don't even get to see exactly how it happened.

As a long time user of both, I've had both chip and take damage. Understanding geometry, the forces at work that effect the edge, the inclusions in materials, there is a million reasons why a tiny chip occurs. Was there an over strike? A pass through that hit dirt? Etc..

As far as taking a set, I had infi take a set when I abused it. That's not a knock on infi, a lesser knife would have snapped. Point is, these "tests" are silly. If pushing knives to failure is what your friend enjoys, great, I don't think anyone cares. Some may even want to watch. Let's see the full videos for those who do want to see.

The fake news headlines and hysteria/attention seeking over what amounts to nothing? Not so much.

A chip is still damge.
These are user obseravtions form different people, sent through group chats or emails, not really deliberate tests.
the gso 7 does have a test video in which the tip was bent, but there was not much to it, just pryed wood and its tip bent a little.
(If you want to see it sure I could post the link, don’t worry, the site BiliBili is completely safe as it is the largest video platform there)
(Or I can move it to youtube)
(But bilibili is ads free sice the its beginning, it does not force you to watch ads like youtube if you don’t have a premium)

If I wanted to catch attention, I would use a different title, maybe “delta 3v failure”.
I did not say so because I do not jump to conclusion stating/implying these are quality issues therefore failures.
These information are only for discussion without intention of implication.

If you have any question about the details, I can ask them for you.

have there been any kung fu chops on any of these knives, yet?
probably the reason for the missing tip of the gso 6 😁
I guess a Bruce Lee style one-inch puch got it.
That is the only one I don’t know about the cause of damage.

It’s not clear that you said these are owned by 4 other people in China. I’m guessing this is just one thread in a series of similar threads.

This is “second hand” information, and I’m not sure what value it has. Are you reporting the news? Looking for answers? What’s the intention?
