I am really liking this knife! I picked a user up at the Exchange, it had been partially stripped, beaten a little and didn't have a very good edge, but you could tell it was loved. (Thanks again drbarnes)
I finished stripping it and gave it a nice convex edge, I also cleaned up the top and bottom of the handle flats. I did not want to go all satin or anything to fancy, sometimes less is more:thumbup:
I took it with me this past weekend to my property in Utah and gave it a little work out. What a great all rounder! it carry's well for a fairly large knife in a high ride kydex sheath, chops firewood with the big boys, lops limbs nicely, it even is very good at finer task's, cleaning trout and prepping food. I have a feeling I found a real favorite!

On with a few shots after I cleaned it up.

Fishing with my Dad, here's a picture of him trying to sneak up on a trout, he was off his game, he got skunked, but I let him eat two of them!

A heavy thunderstorm rolled through Saturday afternoon and when it was done a double rainbow.

Any other DSF love out there?

I recently scored a Terror Monkey and I really dig it too. Yours looks really sweet. Nice score.

AWESOME!!!!!! I love to see the DSF in her natural surroundings! She wasnt getting enough attention here but has found a good home for sure!!

I like how you cleaned it up :thumbup:

I have two DSFs...love EM! I think they are the perfect do all knife...very under rated IMO. The performance to weight ratio is very high... If I had to pack only one fixed blade, it would be the DSF.

Great pics and love the DSF. It is one of my favorites as well. I have put mine through it's paces and it just shines.
You did a great job on it.

Thanks for sharing.

now that i look at it, it looks like a bigger version of the pork shank

I must admit, when I first saw an DSF I did not care to much for the looks, but there was somthing about it. After camping/hiking with my Boss Jack I could see how a DSF could really shine, to me the DSF is the BJ's big brother.
The history of the DSF is pretty cool too! I sure would love to snag an old original someday!

Very nice Blade and super cool pics
I love mine

Yeah, I had some laying around. Use them on my AA & Maglite flashlights. They've been on and off over time. They roll right off when you want. Getting them back on is a chore. Works great on the DSSF, not a good fit on the NMSFNO, needs a smaller size.

Great comparison shots! The Pork Shank fits right in. I luckily scored a satin/black PS in the last ganza, can't wait to add it to the family.
I like the inner tube idea, I'll have to try it.
