Here are some pics of various knives I've acid etched, using Radio Shack's Ferric Chloride ESB etchant. Sorry for the poor camera phone pics...

Benchmade670Apparition.jpg

Benchmade 670 Apparition, very nice as an EDC, especially after rounding the spine and smoothing the thumbstud a bit. Back pocket, even when sitting on it, isn't uncomfortable.

Benchmade755MPR.jpg

Benchmade 755 MPR, also worked the scales over, and modified the contours of the blade, adding a rounded spine, rounded off most of the sharper edges and now it's a joy to EDC in the back pocket.

Benchmade 910 Elishewitz Stryker. At least it started out as one. Removed the serrations, reground the blade, giving it a little hickey-do on the acuto, nasty...

BenchmadeBoneCollector150052.jpg

Benchmade Bone Collector 150052, also hit the slippery scales with a torch. Very grippy now. Surprising how transformative the acid etch was, applied over the full tang of the knife. What was initially slippery, is now grippy. The jimping became very functional. Before this, it looked nice but lacked purchase.

Another pic of the Benchmade Bone Collector

Cold Steel Counter Point 1, also stippled the Grivory scales. Very grippy now.

CRKT Hissatsu, one friend said it looked like a "street knife."

Zero Tolerance 0100, an Army Ranger friend said that of all the knives I showed him, this one he liked the best. Beast of a knife.

ZT0200.jpg

Zero Tolerance 0200, this baby isn't comfortable in the back pocket, but it is comforting...

A little acid-etched Blind Horse patch. Blade cut way too deep for my tastes so I sanded it up 5/32", inset a bit of a choil, and reprofiled. Forced a patina then steelwooled the tops for contrast. 4140 steel:
