Hi guys and shavru...
I thought I would post a few pictures of the grips I recently installed on my 1911. The wood is called Australian Morrell Burl, its a very rare wood that is bleach white on the outside yet has striking browns, reds, pinks, and purples on the inside. I was lucky enough to find a set with vibrant color changing going on... its more dramatic in person. I am afraid the photos really don't do them justice. They go from a honey brown color to a rich maroon color with a dramatic border. There are also a lot of "eyes" and an extreme three dimensional "brain" like pattern going on near the mag release lever.
I know there are some craftsmen and "woodnuts" out there that will appreciate a truly unique set of 1911 grips.
Let me know what you think...
