OK, it may have seemed like I dropped off the radar for awhile and I guess I did. Since so many or you are like family to me, I feel I should explain. For those of you that don't know, Tess and I are divorced now. The papers actually went through last week. It happened right after Blade in Atlanta last year and I never saw it coming. Aside for the actual shock of the situation, I had to get a court order to get my kids brought back to PA. Since this situation started I've been very pre-occupied, going to court, talking to lawyers and trying to spend time with my kids and continue make a living with only half the shop time I used to have. I also, of course, lost my sheath-maker but, Paul Long has been more than making up for that for me. Now there is still a whole custody issue but, things are starting to settle down some now. My folks have moved up to PA 9sooner than they had planned to)and are giving me a hand with the kids so I can do more in the shop than just fill orders. Plus the grandkids/parents are loving being together alot more these days. So I'm not out of it everyone. Just putting life back together and planning on doing bigger and better things in the very near future. I want to thank so many of you for your support and help. Just watch, things are only gonna get better.
That's it, hope that answers a few questions and thanks again.

You owe us no answers, young man.

It's enough that you're alright and can get on with your life.

If there's anything any of us can do to help ... but you know how that goes.:)

Best wishes for your future and I hope you can move on with both your personal and professional lives.

Looking forward to more of your fine work.

Glad you were able to get kids, and parents willing to help out. You owe no one any explanations. Now, out to the shop you go.;)

I am glad that you have your kids. J, you are in my prayers. I am deeply sorry to hear you having such difficult & painful times.

I'm with Old Physics on this one. You don't owe us any answers. And, if there is anything we can help with, don't hesitate to shoot up a flare, or something. :)

Glad to hear the grandparents are helping with the kids. Take care of yourselves!

+1

It'll get better, just keep hammerin' away at it. :D

J, sorry to hear about it. I went through the same thing a couple years ago myself (no kids involved) and that's pretty much when/why I stopped making knives myself. In retrospect it was the best thing that's ever happened to me, but it's really hard when it sneaks up on you and the sense of betrayal and distrust is tough to recover from. Hopefully it works out as good for you as it ultimately did for me. Keep on truckin!

J, we talked at the Chesapeake show, I'm glad that things are looking better. Your knives are kick ass, and you are a good guy. Congrats, for those who didn't know, that J is now a Master smith (his knives have always been top notch). I saw it on Jerzee Devil last year, but saw it in print in a recent Knives Illustrated.
