Tried this and my new Khukri out today, didn't really try and compare the two (apples and oranges) The FFBM chopped really well, it bit deep into the wood and stayed sharp:thumbup: It did not bite like my CGFBM does but that is because of the convex edge on the thinner knife.

Nice PIX! Thanxx for posting 'em!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

I have always wanted to try a khuk but really do not like the handle shape. I know that shape must be excellent for the khuk but I'd prefer a different handle.

It took some getting used to for sure, especially since I've been doing ALL my chopping with a FBM of some sort... The khuk handle is considerably thicker all the way around. And I never thought I'd say it but the khuk is THICKER and HEAVIER than the FFBM! I like to consider myself to be in pretty good shape, and am no stranger to heavy lifting (400+ lb bench press:D) but this thing absolutely wore me out.

So which chops better, apples or oranges?

:D

If I had to say....the khukri gets the edge, BUT the FFBM is going up a weight class and still held its own very well. And the FFBM has a thicker cutting edge than the khukri, so with the right edge re-profile the FFBM could perform better:thumbup:
