I recieved this bad boy on Friday. I thought Id snap a few pics to show her off to all my steel lovin bros.
Ive been down with the flu for the past couple days
:barf:, so I havent had time to use it, but Ive owned enough of Andys blades that I know its good to go.
Andys work is outstanding. It used to be that Fiddleback forge blades were hard to come by. Andy has started pumpin out blades in greater numbers, and adding some very cool models.
eek:have you seen the bow legged chopper?
) He has several runs of differant models going on over on his forum in the makers section. This is one of his Bushcrafters. A personal favorite model of mine. He combined the design of the Bushy jr, and the original Bushy, and as usual, hit one out of the park. The dimensions are perfection, and it has a feel that only Andys blades have. He makes the most comfy knives Ive ever used. Hands down.
I recieved the box, and when I opened it, it was all class baby. Wrapped up in Andys signature brown paper with jute twine and business card, was my Bushy. Dressed in black micarta, no liners, and bullseye lanyard tube, it is simple, but very attractive. The edge is perfect, nice and sharp. I opted for a JRE sheath with mine, a new option from the Fiddleback Forge. Its a great sheath, JRE makes nice stuff. He also has Diomedes Industries making sheaths for his stuff, and they look to be another very nice option.
All in all, I am very impressed. Ive seen Andys blades from the begining of Fiddleback forge, and I am honored to have been witness to him develope his craft into what it is today. Andys style is all is own, and he is one of the nicest guys I "know". If you are wanting a blade that is up for some tough chores, and can look oh so sexy doin it, look no further then Fiddleback Forge!!!
