I wanted to show these off. I originally bought this R6 from whupash and was really impressed with the etching, stripping and convexing.

When I got it, it was the sharpest knife I'd ever owned! I was so impressed that I asked him if he would consider working on a couple other blades for me. So I sent him the first Busse I ever bought, a NMFSH, and my 6" Dog Soldier.

I didn't realize when I sent them that he also makes kydex sheaths. The one that came with the R6 was really nice, so I asked him to also make me sheaths for the NMFSH and DS.

Here are the finished results of the two knives I sent, plus the sheaths. I couldn't be happier with them. :) I wish my photography skills were up to better standards to show these off better, but here you go:

The DS is great, (there are some gremlin grinder marks on the opposite side, but otherwise it looks fantastic) but the real standout is the NMFSH. Feast your eyes on this!

Here are the sheaths he made me. Super high quality! I like these as much as any others that I have.

The danglers are really cool. For the NMFSH, I asked for a standard leather loop, wheras the DS has a metal clip.

Whupash was great on every level--not only great workmanship, but also exceptional turnaround time and very reasonable prices for the work. Overall, I would give him and these blades a 10/10. I think the NMFSH is now my favorite camp knife. Maybe my favorite knife, bar none. :)

Edit: a little bonus pic with the NMFSH etching run through a filter.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Gorgeous! My DOG SOLDIER would look great like this. Heck of a job he did for you there. Congrats, I'm sure they look way better in person. I'm jelly looking at how exceptional those knives look. Enjoy!

Yeah, those DS pics are really blurry. I'd re-take them, but I'm at work now. It looks excellent in person, that's for sure.

Those look great. That etching looks really deep. I also like that some of the sheaths are screwed together instead of riveted. This allows the owner to open it up and clean it out as needed.

Yeah, that is a nice touch for sure with the screws. I would have gone with that for the NMFSH sheath as well, except that I wanted to use the rivet holes to lash it to my camp pack.

As for the etchings... it’s criminal that I didn’t include a close-up picture of the R6’s etching. Going to have to rectify that.

Speaking of the R6, if you had to take “one blade,” I don’t know how much better you can do than one of these... especially with the top guard modded off. It’s basically just a bigger RMD.

Dog Soldier might be a hair above it. Maybe. Due to the Res-C and INFI. But picking between them is being really spoiled for choice, that’s for sure.

Those came out really nice !!! Great work on both the blades and sheaths !!!!
The NMFSH is just about my favorite Busse :-)
The R6 is another fav too

I totally agree with you. If the R6 came in INFI with no top guard it would be THE knife in that size range. I absolutely love the R6 handle. When I received my dog soldier, I immediately compared the two to see which one might have to go. I prefer the handle and blade thickness of the R6, but like the steel and balance of the DS6. I still have both.

My Skinny ASH1 is the other contender for me in this size. They’re all incredible. I can’t choose which one I like the best between them!

I really like how those came out.

I have an R6 and a DS6.

Those two knives will never be sold (within my "large blade" options). The rest are....open to being flipped, even my TGs. But the combination of size, balance and feel of those two knives is spectacular.

I really really like how those came out.
