I wanted to show these off. I originally bought this R6 from whupash and was really impressed with the etching, stripping and convexing.
When I got it, it was the sharpest knife I'd ever owned! I was so impressed that I asked him if he would consider working on a couple other blades for me. So I sent him the first Busse I ever bought, a NMFSH, and my 6" Dog Soldier.
I didn't realize when I sent them that he also makes kydex sheaths. The one that came with the R6 was really nice, so I asked him to also make me sheaths for the NMFSH and DS.
Here are the finished results of the two knives I sent, plus the sheaths. I couldn't be happier with them.
I wish my photography skills were up to better standards to show these off better, but here you go:
The DS is great, (there are some gremlin grinder marks on the opposite side, but otherwise it looks fantastic) but the real standout is the NMFSH. Feast your eyes on this!
The three together:
Here are the sheaths he made me. Super high quality! I like these as much as any others that I have.
The danglers are really cool. For the NMFSH, I asked for a standard leather loop, wheras the DS has a metal clip.
Whupash was great on every level--not only great workmanship, but also exceptional turnaround time and very reasonable prices for the work. Overall, I would give him and these blades a 10/10. I think the NMFSH is now my favorite camp knife. Maybe my favorite knife, bar none.
Edit: a little bonus pic with the NMFSH etching run through a filter.
