Improvising a flint and steel striker and making natural char-cloth using cottonwood bark.

For a striker I just used an old file and found some rocks on the river with a Mohs hardness of 7 or higher, meaning they can throw sparks.

Using the file and rocks I caught my last piece of cotton char cloth on fire and blew it into a flame and built a fire and then found some loose bark from a cottenwood tree and chard it for future use.

Thanks for posting. Flint and steel is something I haven't actually practiced much of. I tend to change that sometime in the near future.

Go for it man, its also just kind of fun hunting and testing rocks to see what works.
