I did a little comparison of some folding knives I've got. Here are my findings:

Boker Plus Exskelibur II, Cocobolo Wood Handles
- I love this design, but serious quality control issues means you may have to buy a couple to find a good one ($75)
- I put the high polish on it by removing the blade and hand sanding using multiple grits of sandpaper: 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 and then Flitz metal polish.

KA-BAR Dozier Folding Hunter
- can't be beat for $20, awesome Bob Dozier design

LionSteel Opera, olivewood
- excellent sleek design, impeccable fit & finish--seriously great Italian quality ($85)

Great Eastern Cutlery (GEC) Bull Nose (pattern #71), linen micarta handle
- a vintage Sodbuster design, executed to perfection ($55)

Perceval Le Francais, juniper wood handle
- classy as all hell, perfect minimal design ($150)

I also did a little video so you can see them in hand as well: https://youtu.be/o-hvyic1CuE

I hope this is helpful to someone considering a purchase.

Thanks for spending the time. I have heard good things about LionSteel but you don't see much chatter about them. We have our initial stocking order on the way and I am giddy (ok, as giddy as a middle aged pessimist gets)..

Hey Mike! I like your videos as well, very helpful. I'm on the fence right now on a red saw bone soda scout (I think yours are the best looking), but already have a 15" cap lifter, so I'm trying to resist! :)

I picked up a Lionsteel Opera 2 when I was in Maniago, Italy last year. They are very impressive knives with a bit of a different construction than I've ever seen in a knife. Love the simplicity. We headed to the Dolomiti after Maniago and found this semi-abandoned suspension foot bridge:
