So about a year ago my brother (A.K.A.-Dr. Beardlove) found a big 'ol chopper in a run down barn.
It looked like hell when he found it.
He brought it out to the BeckerWest gathering last October and I was pretty impressed with it. It's a beast!
I talked him into letting me do some work on it.
I sanded it and wire brushed it clean. Regrinded the edge a bit.
I had planned on doing some custom micarta or G-10 scales for it.
Well, I was out in the garage sharpening it and saw a spare set of Becker scales laying on my work bench.
A few minutes later and a few busted drill bits...
I still have to do a little more work on the edge, but I LOVE the Becker scales on this bad boy.
My brother hasn't seen it yet. He'll be pretty stoked though.
It's a cool old chopper. The pitting really adds some character.
The tang doesn't fill in the scales at the finger gaurds. They still feel structurally sound though.
Time to go chop some firewood!
