Hey everyone. I was playing with some stuff this week and I have a few items to suggest to you for your kit.

First is my review of the Maxpedition 12X5 bottle holder and my new Klean Kanteen 64oz steel bottle. You can read about it here... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=718070

But the other nifty little piece of kit I was playing with was Velcro Brand "One Wrap". Don't know if any of you guys have used this or heard of it, but it's a great little item to have in your bag. It's like reusable tape. instead of the two piece velcro its a nylon band with the hook on one side and the loop on the other all in one piece. And when you wrap it around something it sticks to itself. And it sticks pretty damn strong. I'd imagine it could hold several pounds of stress before failing. And the more times you wrap it the strong it gets. You could use it for bundeling firewood for easy transport, making a tourniquet, Holding pieces of shelter together, lashing tools together for easy transport. Check some out here http://www.velcro.com/index.php?page=consumer-products-straps-and-organization-one-wrap . They got it in 1/2" up to 2" I think. And in colors like vegie green or tan. I know strapworks has 2" cause I got some. But I find the 1" to be very versatile for many applications. Just thought I'd pass the idea along incase no one else has. It's good stuff.

I got a big roll of that stuff, except i used it to bundle wiring harnesses when i built my buddies jeep up. Works great for pre positioning the wires before final shrink tube application.

never thought to throw some in my kit though.........good call!

I have a bunch of difference size lashing straps, but I could see where that could be a good alternative for smaller stuff
