Don't see too much here on the HG55 so thought I'd profess my new found love and see how you guys are using them.

Have been wanting one of these ever since the addiction started and today a special package arrived (thanks Nathan!!).

I have always liked "smaller" blades and I am just in love - the handle fits me so well, USABLE CHOIL, good balance and I cant stop looking at how nice the finish and angles/lines are - I keep thinking tiger shark whenever I look at it!

Sharpened her up on my sharpmaker (not sure about the best angle to use but I found the edge... how do you guys sharpen them?) and it is wicked - tested it in the kitchen on some fruit and it made quick work of em. Cant wait for next week to be able to get upstate and break her in.

I can already tell that this will get carried a lot more than my other Busses. Even though it is designed as a fighter, I think it will work as a great gen purpose camping blade as well - it will be interesting to see how the scallops wear overtime. Anyone using theirs in this fashion?

Thanks Jerry & crew - love this sucker!!!

(Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics)

TrailWolf, is that a long haired doxie in your avatar?

Hg55 is a great blade. I a military overrun I carry in my bike bag.

I also like the HG55 very much. The ergos on the handle are very good for my use. The blade length is great, and that's coming from a guy who usually doesn't find much use for the mid-sized Busses. I also prefer the flat butt for utility.

Loving the pics guys - I think I might have to pick up a satin when the funds permit - @lunde, its beautiful.

How are you guys carrying them? I was going to get some kydex made but then was thinking of picking up a spec ops combat master - that way I can use one sheath for a few knives...

Also still curious - how are you guys sharpening your CGs?

@rover - yep that he is :D Our 10 month old english cream Oscar - our first dachshund and such a quirky character!

Awesome. I have a Japanese Cream and a Piebald. Great dogs and definately quicky.

Aww they must be great - every one I know who has doxies has two at a time - I think we are missing out

The piebalds are gorgeous but cant say I've seen a japanese cream...

Great looking knife and pics:thumbup:

I really like the blade shape and handle of the HG55. My favorite is the BP/satin.

Didn't like it when I saw the pics on the home page.
BUT, when I went to knob creek and held one in my hand.. I was very impressed with it and end up buying three of them. Satin/ black G10, DC / black canvas and a sage and tan.

the straight lines remind me of a modern SJ good design
