Some ideas please!!!

I'm making my dad an old style Bowie knife for his western reenactments.i made it from an old lawnmower blade.i know I know should use known steel.but I started it when I first got into knife making.anyway the blade is 14" with the handle almost 6".blade big enough?? Haha. The handle material is an old cow knuckle bone my dad sent me that he dug up somewhere. Back to where I was wanting your ideas, the mounting hole that was in the mower blade I left because I was wanting to ensert an old Morgan dollar in by silver soldering. Has anyone else done anything like this I'm sure there has been.anyway I'd like your opinions and ideas and pics if any.dont worry about hurting my feelings either I'm a big boy haha
