A friend of mine has used this one daily and heavely, yes it was sharpened often aand it survived everything. The black coating on the blade has completely disappeared and it was never send back to recondition it.Now he has no more time to use it and gave it to me knowing that it would NOT get in a box.
It is made in South Africa.
The only thing I can conclude that is good stuff ,that in the hands of intelligent people, will do everything.
Could some one gave me more info: age, name aso please

How long is the blade and what number is it?

If its a 7 inch blade its a Mk V if its a 9 inch blade its a Jereboam II and to me on an I phone it looks to be number 56 if its a number 56 on a Mk V its around 1986 or so and if its a Jereboam II it would be around 1987-88 I think, here is one of my threads http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=783472 Your knife is very nice hang onto it and if its going into an insured collection I would value it at around $500 depending on the sheath. Its nice to see one that was used for its intended design

It seems to me that the but cap is not removable, on my other CRK you can easely unscrew it and I see no seam at all.

Thats odd it might be uber tight sometimes they sieze up as far as you have a 9 inch blade Im pretty sure its a Jereboam II and number 98 that would put it at 1988

If you can very carefully put the cap into a nylon vise or in a vise with wood inbetween the jaws and being carefull give the blade a slow twist, hand use only!! no tools if that dont help send it in to CRK they can get it open. And if you do get it open use some anti sieze from the auto parts store on the threads or some greese. And dont crank it down too much, you may also need a new o ring you can get those at the parts store as well
