Hey guys, does anyone know where the brand Master Knives comes from? I got a knife at work today, a slipjoint, with a clip point blade and razor blade on it, and it says Master Knives on the blade, but it doesn't say where it's made. It was a gift, so why not accept, but, can anyone tell me a little about these knives? Who makes them, where are they made, anything?

The couple of Master brand knives I have are stamped Taiwan on the back of the blade. They are three or four years old, so the company name could have sold and production moved anywhere by now.

I bought one new at a gun show about 10 years ago for about $35. It is a 4" blade of AUS-8, has a substantial aluminum frame and is an all- bolted liner lock. After I disassembled and adjusted everything, it's a pretty good knife that feels good and works good.
The box has no contact information, no papers, or anything else other than the brand and model. The pocket clip is etched Taiwan. Appearances are that the makers and distributors preferred never to hear from the consumer. I therefore don't know if the current master Cutlery is a descendant or not. regards, ss.
