(1st) As most all will note I 'm new here, but being a member of other types of forums I new this would be the place for help. I have a boot knife with the words Smoky Mountian ToothPick on the blade. It is a 5" dagger style boot knife. It has Parker-Brothers, Chattanooga,TN. Surgical Steel on the blade. I've had this blade for many years and was wondering if any one could give me any info on this knife. Such as is this the same Parker Knife co. that went out of business some years ago? I'm not able to find much on the Net, so must be looking in the wrong place. I am alos looking for a Boot Sheath for it as the leather that snaps and holds the blade in has broken and since it's a one piece sheath it will be next to impossible to repair respectably. Any help that someone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

(2nd) I also have a KaBar #1205 and have the same problem with the sheath. The snap that hold the knife in is broken. The Sheath has a long cut in the back. the snap piece of leather can be replaced. My problem is that all the new Replace sheaths say USMC or something to that effect. My sheath has a Deer or Elk head on it and that is would I would like to replace it with.
Once again thanks for any assistance. If this posting is in the wrong place my forgive me

Your first knife sounds like something from Jim Parker for sure, but I don't know much about his various brands or where/when each brand was made. If you can get some nice photos or scanned images of the knife, including a closeup of the markings, post them down in Bernard Levine's forum section - I know he knows about Parker knives.

Mostly though, I just wanted to say Welcome to BladeForums!

I had one in 1985. It was Parker's knock-off of the Gerber MKI, and they also had the Big Smokey which was their MKII kock-off. They were Eagle Brand Knives and I assume they went out of business since I saw them sold in 1986 and when I started buying knives again in 1988 I saw no knives from this company. I still have my Parker Ultralite, which I think was the same blade as the Smokey Mountain Toothpick but with a different handle.

A few years ago eknifeworks re-released the SKM Toothpick but from another manufacturer. They might still have them.

Thanks for the info, I'll see about getting some pics. Thanks for the welcome. I knew the forums would be able to help.
