Got my CRKT Ken Onion Ripple and all I can say is "WOW!!!" I am very impressed. I will be EDC'ing this baby to see how it shakes out.

But in the mean time, here's some KOrn (Ken Onion porn :p):

what type of steel does it have? anything good?

Acuto+ @ 59-60 HRC.

Some kind of Japanese premium steel. From what I've read so far, it is like a 1/2 step up from 440C. I really don't know though. There are others more qualified than me that can inform you better. :o

i know that those ripples are super smooth. when i went to plaza cutlery Dan let me try his ken onion custom. and all i could say was WOW

From the initial pics when it first showed up I thought it was a bit bigger than that. Still, that is one nice lookin' knife:thumbup:

Thanks for the pics.

Smooth is an insufficient description. We need another word in the dictionary to describe the action. It is THAT good. Smoother than any other knife I have tried by a wide margin. Not that I'm and expert. :o

maybe ultra mega smooth? but it was amazing. the thing that i like about the ken onion ripple vs the CRKT are the materials are slightly better. but they look identical. which is the whole point

I had some small issues with fit & finish. The flipper was sharp and began to hurt my index finger the more I flipped it. Took my DMT Aligner diamond whetstones and smoothed and rounded it. Also, the lock bar was sticking making it difficult to disengage to close. Took it apart and again with my diamond whetstones, smoothed the tang and the lock bar contact points. It is now just fine and the lock-up is perfect as you can see in the pic. And lastly, some of the machined edges are sharp. The edges don't bother me so much as the corners at the lanyard hole. That catches my skin and jeans a bit. Those are my only nits to pick. Overall, a wonderful knife!

Fantastic pictures UpChUck!

Looks like you got the light box working. :D

The size comparison with the Leek really helps, thanks.

Anyone got porn pics of the blue one? My girlfriend has a thing for blue & black handles but these pics have me conflicted. I can't picture it looking as sweet as this one.

That's the first KO knife I would consider buying. Looks totally functional .Thanks for the pics! I was thinking about it but now I just might order one.

I can't remember where it's made, Taiwan right? That sure beats PRC by a long shot!

Wow that looks nice! Hard to believe it is really a CRKT. Definitely gotta look into that one.

I was looking these at my knife shop the other day. Very nice, I would call it a gents knife very nice for EDC.

it looks like one of the best knives they made since the S-2 model, too bad it doesnt use the S-2's titanium & ats-34.....

It 's made in Taiwam and is marked on the box not the knife. Some kind of change in law allows it to be marked on box instead of knife. go figure. I have the Ripple in Blue and it is a nice knife. I have noticed the same little things that UpChuck has mentioned. My Ripple tip of blade needed a touch up on my Sharpmaker and is sharp now. This is a very nice EDC and is soooooo sssssmmmoooth!!
