Here is a set (of 6) that a customer ordered. He also wanted sheaths (with no belt loops) in order to be able to place them in kitchen drawers without them banging against other utensils.

All were made from 154CM with H/T by BOS to 61Rc.

Two have spalted maple burl and four have cocobolo. On the cocobolo blades, he wanted them named. Thanks to Ernie Grospitch for the stencils.

Sure hope he likes 'em.

That is Cool Robert.
I have never heard of sheaths for kitchen knives. Is it a common request or just a good Idea?

Not a common request (as a matter of fact.... a first). As far as a good idea????????? Not sure. Might be OK if they follow my instructions on how to take care of a kitchen knife.

The sagging belly design of the handles like that (with the straight top) makes for one of the most comfortable, easy to use grips in a kitchen knife---looks like a tremendous trio you put together there, Robert. :thumbup:

Tell them to be sure to cut on wood or bamboo only!!! If they screw up those lovely, hard, thin edges with granite, glass or cast iron, they need to be whacked with a 2X4 repeatedly. :D

Very nice Robert:thumbup::thumbup:
The sheaths work well. I bought a ggood kitchen knife for my mother in law a few years back & made a tooled sheath for it.
Again well done.
