i just got back from a trip to Barcelona. I found some knife shops like this one:

I bought 4 Nietos and 1 Joker, I also saw some Muelas but they didn't catch my eye.

this guy was sharpening knives with bicycle power:

Barcelona is a beautiful city.

Those are some nice looking knives - great mementos of your trip. The guy on the bike looks like he wondered what you were doing? OH

Nice! I like the center one. Nice color combo with the blue & white and the red pivot. How is the fit & finish?

Hope you had a great time in that most beautiful of European cities. Great to see your souvenirs! :)

Are there many knife shops in Barcelona? I will be there later in the year so any info would be welcome.

I know this shop well. Nice souvenirs you collected there.

Most Spanish towns/cities have a knife shop. Or look for a hunting/fishing shop and they will have knives for sale.

Very cool photos and find~ Liking the jokers, I agree with Casares, no photos but I've found knife shops in the UK, Czech Republic, France, etc that carried many a selection. Even one by a castle xD

Looks like a nice haul you got there Trey999, all of them have have beautiful covers.

Very cool knives! I love the pic of the sharpening setup, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a nice trip.

I took the wife and kids to Barcelona earlier this year. Sadly, I didn't pass by any knife shops, but we did have a GREAT vacation there. I'd go back in a second. And thanks to trey999, now I know where to shop. :D

Thanks- another whole nation of knives for me to covet.
Great sharpening rig; does the stand swing up so he can pedal between sharpening sites?

Awesome, get fit and provide a service at the same time!

Did all the knives offered have this general look to them? I assume that is the type of knife that is popular with their culture?

Nice ones regardless, thanks for sharing.

We also saw a man sharpening knives on the back of a motorcycle but I didn't get a picture.

I was really hoping to find some knives made in Spain that I hadn't heard or, or better yet to find somebody making his own knives but I like what I got. The fit and finish is really good on all of them. These seemed to be the general style of most of the knives I saw there.

There was a little knife store in a crafter's type village and we stumbled upon 2 more. The internet listed a couple that we didn't get to. Also, some of the stores had cases of knives. But mostly all I saw were Nietos, Jokers, Muelas, SAKs and some Opinels.

Bike powered for the win. That is the most amusing was I have ever seen it done.

Those are some wonderful souvenirs, trey!!:thumbup:
I visited my daughter in Madrid in late Dec./ early Jan., and we traveled to 6 Spanish cities, but not Barcelona. One of my favorite parts of the visit was finding cuchillerias in each city and checking out the knives. I bought at least one knife in each city (except Madrid, where the shops I found were not very impressive); they're fantastic mementos of my visit.

Cool knives! I'd love to go to Europe, some day. So many places I'd like to Visit. I have a thing for French knives, Swiss knives, German knives, Spanish knives, Italian knives, Scandanavian knives, etc... :D
