Just a few pieces I've made this past year:

O-1 tool steel tanto, differentially tempered with grip tape and paracord wrap

Laminated forged left hand chisel ground kiridashi with a poplar sheath in shirasaya style. The steel is O-1 laminated with CR 1018, and the mekugi is dogwood( I know that's not typical of traditional kiridashis, but who says this is traditional, lol) . As you can tell I can't/ don't have the things to weld a proper habaki, lol, hence the folded copper.

Another lefty kiridashi I made, also out of O-1, this time though was from stock removal and was differentially tempered with a blow torch, and is probably the sharpest knife I've made thus far as it will whittle hair easily, lol. I put a patina on the blade for added rust resistance, and thus far has been holding up fairly decently. While the polish isn't that great I'd say it's still fairly decent for a user, I'll post picks of the sheath when I get the chance.

Thanks for looking, let me know what you think :)

P.S. - Sorry if some of the pics aren't that great in quality, I'm a bit new at macro shots lol

Thanks for the kind comments guys, most of the stuff I learned to make these blades were from this forum :D

As promised - pics of the second kiridashi with its sheath, and a bit of a sharpness test just for fun ;) (that's just a piece of scrap copy paper). The sheath is made from dogwood and bocote (a bit grimy from living in my pencil case lol). For this one I tried to make this sheath more in the style of a sushi knife saya, and I think it turned out alright. Until I can get a proper stamp made, my maker's mark is going to have to be on the sheathes, :grumpy:.
