Sometimes, not often, but sometimes I get a request for just a plain vanilla sheath. This one for a J. Neilson forged Cowboy Bowie is going to a SASS shooter and it will match up well with his gun belt. The knife is really very nice and I'll let J know I posted it so he can give the particulars on it. It surely looks the part for where it's going.

Paul

Edit: See post #16 for the knife specs, posted by the maker.

...good looking sheath, Mr Long. I can see why some might
like "vanilla". :-)

Ha Ha... vanilla indeed... Paul, "plain" is not a word I would ever associate with your work. :)

Beautiful pair there.

Nothing you do is plain

It oozes quality

By the way I have the plainest P long sheaths:D

Bet I got one plainer than yours, Joey....it even predates the "Garsson Toe";)

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I like vanilla, when it looks like that :D Thanks for the pics Paul, that's a good looking combo.

I agree, "nothing" you make is plain....well perhaps.... just plain awesome, as always Paul!

Plain awesome is right, Paul keeps making my stuff look good. :D

The Bowie itself is forged from edge-quenched W1 steel with forge marked flats and the bevels are "antique finished". The Gent this is going to wanted to match the handle colors to his old college colors (gold/black/white) so the threaded handle has a fullered guard and pommel of silica bronze, a handle of white paper micarta and 1/4" black linen micarta ends.
J.

Nothing wrong with plain when the quality is so evidently there. Knife and sheath both look great.

Well, the first sheath you made for me, Paul, was vanilla. No throat overlay, just clean, simple, elegant leather with the color coordinated to the wood. I liked it a lot, and more importantly the customer was happy.
