Yesterday I began a thread, guestioning the abrupt closing of a thread, asking members if they were tired ol all the hype around the Sebenza. I indicated that I found the Sebenza aesthecially unpleasing. I also compared the Sebenza negatively to my new Pohl Force Alpha 3 folder. Today I received notice of an infraction worth 5 points.
In my posting I used the word b-tch. At the time I wondered ,in passing, if that was a no,no although my female pug seems to be cool with that particular word. However the notice of an infraction doesn't say peep about that, but instead accuses my of a troll attack on a manufacturer!!!
Luckily I was sitting down at the time as I could have fainted in astonishment. If I had a dollar for every vicious attack on Cold Steel and Lynn Thompson, as well as other manufacturers who are apparently not held in as high esteem as CS knives, I'd have enough cash to buy a new knife. [and no,the knife would not be a sebenza]
It will be interesting to see if I receive notice of another infraction for complaining.

You might as the general knife forum isn't the place to complain about getting an infraction. The correct place would be Tech Support.

I agree and i am sure a wiser choice would have been to debate this with the mods in PM, emails etc. Now its like your calling them out asking for it.

1. Questions about how the forum is run belong in Technical Support, so that's where I just moved this.

2. Questions about closing threads also belong in Tech Support, although since yours was also about a supposedly privileged manufacturer, it could have gone in FEEDBACK.

Neither of these questions is remotely appropriate to General Knife Discussion.

3. Your language in the first instance was deliberately unacceptable. We can overlook a term like "bitch" but not when you make a challenge of it.

4. Do not lie to the forum about my work here. I did not infract you for trolling. I noted that I saw your post as trolling and your language as unacceptable, but the actual infraction was for posting in the wrong forum.

5. Since you did not link to the previous CRK thread that had been closed, I have no idea where it is or why it was closed. It might have been closed by the original poster, or by a moderator. I have no crystal ball for sorting through threads if you can't be bothered to reference them unambiguously.

This is about the most easy going site of all the ones I frequent. Seriously, if you can't get along here, you need to re-examine what you are doing, because we are pretty laid back.
 
A part of me just wants to lie low and say nothing further, but Esav did call me a liar in point 4 of his response to my post so, to maintain my modest sense of self respect ,I have to say that I reject his accusation. I can find no trace of my original post and Esav's explanation of my infraction , so I can't prove what was said.
In any case I am not interested in "poking" Esav and I'm surprised that he would make a mano a mano issue out of this.
My infraction seems to have been rescinded, so thank-you to Esav or whoever took mercy on me.

I see serious threads discussing the pros and cons of CRK frequently and they are not closed.

I see trolling threads dissing all sorts of manufacturers get closed frequently.

So, no. I don't thing CRK is privileged. I do think they get more than their fair share of trolling threads. They are top dog, winner of many manufacturing and quality awards and their prices reflect that. So they get targeted a lot.

As far as your complaint that you did not get to post in the latest troll thread, I have no sympathy for your whine.

Just about all the higher priced knives get a lot of trolling from what I have seen over the years so it's nothing new.

There is always some who will post some BS like this (enter $8.00 knife here) is just as good as (Enter Expensive knife here) and then the dog piling begins.

I get the same crap on YT also when I review an expensive blade or even something like a Spyderco with a Premium steel, they are always around and always will be.

My Gas Station knife will do just as good as that S90V knife will........ Yeah right...... Dream on..... ;)

I am not a CRK fanboy by any means so I don't drink the Cool-Aid at all, but they do make quality products.
