Well had the BK7 out for a few tests.

Started with a piece of 6"-6"

After 5 mins of chopping I had a nice little dent in the block

After this no chips or dents, so I went to batoning.

Now after taking off the corners and some other sections, you can see the block in the background and one piece that was whittled to a point after batoning.

Now after that I made a fuzz stick and the dug a hole.

So there ya go guys, a test why my beloved BK7, and its sharpness at the and of this was the same as when I started :-)

Pretty is in the eye of the beholder. I find honest wear adds a lot of character, whether it's a guitar or a knife. Yup, I like patina's too :)

Yeah, I really like my BK-7 too. No pics, but stripped our Christmas tree, sectioned and split the trunk and took a 4" limb off of a pine at a neighbors the same day. Havn't sharpened it and it still push cuts phonebook paper. Good knife, no doubt about it.

im impressed. ive never owned a becker, but from your pics, it certainly is a great user.

Yeah, I was honestly amazed the first time I used it, this just made me like it more :D

I just picked up my second BK7 tonight at sportsmans warehouse. They are a great knife you can't beat the price. By the way my first one is still in fine working condition, just thought I could use a second one incase they all fall in that "temporary out of stock" mode.

Yeah, thats the unfortunate thing about becker's nowadays. :grumpy:

Yeah, I should have picked up the Necker a long time ago. Just goes to show ya what procrastination does for ya.

No kidding, buy your Beckers now, guys. Sad to say they might not be available anywhere but $bay soon :(

It's nice to have a tool that you like, and is extremely functional too! Looks great! Hope your neighbors didn't call the cops! :D

"There's this crazy guy chopping wood between our houses...."

haha, i've worried about that, people seeing me going behind the house with axes, and rather large knives. I wonder what they think :D

I will probably be getting a BK7 for my 7'' bladed knife, I hear too many good things not to.
Fonly, saw you got a grohman #4 in the eye candy thread, how do you like it?

very cool fonly... i've always liked those bk-7's, but never have gotten around to getting one.... looks cold over there....

I have read on a couple other forums that there is two different knife companies that might continue to make the beckers now that camillus is gone. Hopefully its true.

Yeah, its actually deceivingly cold, as in its much dryer, so you dont notice it as much.

Liam: Yeah love the #4 , im going ot try and get out a bit today and have fun with that one too.

troutfisher, I hope you're right. Maybe Ontario will pick up the slack? I would buy a Becker from them no problem.

Anyone got a couple million $$ I can borrow and start a factory? You KNOW there's a market for these things.
