Some more fall colours

After closer inspection, its really only a subset of trees that are really turning the colours now. Locust, hickory, staghorn sumac and sassafras are really starting to show now while the maples are still green and the oaks are doing that turn brown thing. Still, it seems like a long time since we've had a truly spectacular fall and it always seems that a big storm comes and blows all the leaves away before they peak. This year, I want to keep an eye on things and after yesterday's walk I decided to go back to study some colour.

Unfortunately, my landscape lends developed a smudge in it that I didn't find out until after I got back. Oh well....Here are some of the vibrant colours from today.

Beautiful photos Ken, we've had rain here for the past three days so hopefully all the autumn colors are about to pop out.

Thanks guys, yeah lots of rain this way coming as well. Hoping it doesn't bring the wind with it, at least before the maples start to turn..

Very nice! Down here in Texas where we got no rain for a year the landscape looks like poop. So nice to see some real fall colors!
