For all of you that are still waiting for yours or those that might be wanting one........these pictures are for you
This was the second outing with my KD and I have to say that it was even better than the first outing. I picked up a Mashed Cat kydex sheath and the fit and finish are amazing (see pics).
When I was out I wanted to try different things with it like prying, digging, battoning and using the spiked end and some more chopping. The prying end works real well it also functions as a pick axe type tool and I dug a hole real fast with it, having the handle end squared off actually aided in the digging. I next took some hardwood logs and in one downward motion I sliced right through the logs as if I was using my 8lb axe. I made short order of the logs and also made kindling for the small fire I had. Later on I found a seasoned log in the back woods and decided to chop a nice piece off for the fire, it did not take long or a lot of effort before I went through it. Testing the edge and spike end was fun as most know I had a small roll from the first test I did and guess what the roll smoothed itself out after chopping through a stump about 40 or more times. The spike end is all business. I must have spiked the hardwood stump 100 times, turning it until I had a hole, I did this numerous times, the spike is now partially sharpened from use, awesomeness. Towards the end I was getting sloppy and before I decided to call it quits I missed the stump and hit my thigh with the spiked end......not good.
Overall I am very happy with the SH KD it is my new DSF
Sorry for the long post............Hope ya enjoy the pics
