The mailman brought me some happiness yesterday. There isn't much I couldn't do with these two knives, and I can't wait to get out to the woods to work them out!

very nice. do you have any mods planned for em?

I'm not crazy about coated blades, so I am going to strip these. At some point, I'll make some wood handles, as well. I'm thinking Osage Orange with green liners.

Stripped with Osage handles would look great on a 7. Enjoy the new steel!

Congrats on those two fine new blades!
Which coating do you like better?

Of these two, I prefer the coating on the 7. The coating on the 17 is much more coarse and thick. It seems a bit like a spray on bedliner in texture.

modding. eh.

use them as your God intended them to be used for a FEW hours at least ;)

you'll never know if your mods hurt the performance or not, otherwise ;D

The woolen octopus makes a good point, I've dramatically changed ALOT of knives my by customizing/modding them.
