well i went to a gun/knife show today/yesterday and picked up two new buck knives. A kalinga pro new in box and a folding alpha hunter with green jigged buffalo horn. The alpha hunter has writing on the blade. Anyone get any scores lately?

*edit* the kalinga pro has rosewood handles with s30v blade

Boy i hated to see the Kalinga pro series discontinued! I really like the entire line, even the folders, they feel so good in the hand. Nice find!!

Ya... i really hated to see em go... I was wanting to pick up the folder and i had seen them around for not to much but now they are expensive! Ill have to throw that onto the list of bucks i need...

Bad move on Bucks part. As much as I love my EDC( Alpha Hunter/rubber) the Kalinga is a better prep knife.
Every time I kill a hog the(old made in USA) Kalinga gets broken out and stropped. The Alpha is fine for Rabbits and chickens, cutting up Habaneros ;) or gutting small fish.
The Kalinga needs to come out for anything over +/- 100#.

Haa, thats funny. I'll use my drop point 110 to gut, skin and quarter an animal all the way up to 300lbs.. Above that size, I'd still use it to gut and skin but for quartering larger size game I'd prefer a 6", something like the 121 or longer. DM
