It has been awhile since I posted any new pics. Two new styles for me. I also have a new maker's mark. Both knives are sold.

Very nice Bob! I love your new mark, lots of style and grace.

Those knives look great. Good lines, simple, and elegant. The top one reminds me of a Roger Green knife I have. Is the tang tapered? It looks like it might be a little handle heavy, but I dunno. Eliminating the ricasso area on the blade is interesting.

I like the second knife more. What are it's dimensions? It looks like a great little boot knife.

BTW, what steel are you using? And are the grinds flat or hollow?

I have a special technique for the small ricasso on the upswept blade...it's called grinding too far back

The OAL on the first knife is 7-1/2", so the pic is deceiving. The handle is very thin. Neil had his hands on it so he can testify that it is well balanced. The boot knife is so versatile in shape that I can increase or decease the size at will, depending on the user requirement. That one is also 7-1/2" OAL. I use ATS-34 on the majority of my knives unless someone requests something different. If it's good enough for R.W.L., its good enough for me. I have just started tapering tangs, so most all new knives will have it. I have been using an 8-inch wheel to grind, but when my new Bader gets here, I will switch to a 10-inch wheel. I recently did my first flat ground blade. I will have lots of new stuff coming out in the next few months.

Both knives are wonderful, but I REALLY like the boot knife. Absolutely beautiful lines.

Your new mark is very nice.

Keith.

Bob, thanks for the info. And your honesty about your design inspirations

Yes indeed, I thought the upswept knife was a bit bigger than it is. Pictures can give a very misleading impression of size, weight, and volume sometimes.

I have a Jim Crowell boot knife that is 7.25 OAL with a 4 inch blade in front of the bolsterless scales. Your boot knife is similar in size. That little knife is one of my favorites, being small enough for easy carry, and big enough for almost any required task. The slim, guardless design makes for a very trim sheath. Your knife and sheath look great.

I look forward to see more of your ever improving work, knifemaker extraordinaire, Dogman Dogget. Thanks for sharing with us!

Dogman!!!
Just found this site and recognized a familiar name! Your knives look great! If you send me the one with the pins and larger bolsters...I'll do some scratching on it for you (no charge) as a small thankyou for the TERRIFIC job you did on our website.
GREAT JOB!!!! they look great!

Wow! Hi, July. I think it will take another 10 years before my knives are worthy of your work

And then...maybe.

If you guys are wondering what I am talking about, look at the fantastic engraving on the S.R. Johnson Classic Fighter:

Wow....

I like both yours, esp the second, with the pins. Nice, clean design.

But that Johnson is just magnificent....

Any idea where i may get my hands on something like that?

Hey, Richard.
I haven't started naming knives yet. I want to solidify the patterns I am going to make and it is weird for me because I am not the kind of guy that names things. Besides, all the good ones are taken.
