Well I took my copies of Camping and Woodcraft (Kephart) and Woodcraft and Camping (Nessmuk) on my vacation to Northern California recently. About two weeks ago I noticed my copy of Camping and Woodcraft seems to have stayed on vacation.... couldn't find it. So that prompted me to get another copy, and in my search I found a few treasures.
I decided to look on evilbay, all kinds of cool stuff pops up there now and again. I searched for Kephart's book and found a cool old copy from 1946.
When I received the book I noticed some of Kephart's other books (listed on the second page) and saw one I never noticed before; Sporting Firearms. I did a google search for it, which eventually lead me to a really cool book store out of Reno, NV. They had a copy and it was published in 1934, I couldn't pass that up.
While I was on their site I did a search for Nessmuk....lo and behold they had a copy of Woodcraft from 1918! So I snagged that one too.
Now I'm not a huge reader, but I do have a great admiration and affinity for old books. Especially on a topic I am very interested in.
Lastly, here is a book that I was referred to by our own Stomper (John, JK). It is called Outdoorsman's Fix-It Book by Monte Burch. He did a post on it not that long ago. It was pretty easy to find online and pretty cheap to boot. It is a fantastic book with all kinds of great know how.
