a couple new blades, the esse 4 and condor hudson bay. along with my Modded Gayle Bradley. ( exposed the liner lock a bit)
couple of things i noticed, the esse handle is smaller in my hand than the GB slightly. its a stout little knife. the blades almost .2 inches thick and a tad over 4.5" long. the canvas micarta is pretty grippy so even with the small handle it seems to give good purchase. feels like a tank of a knife. the blade came very sharp, close to spyderco standards. no gaps between tang and micarta grips. nice stainless flat hex heads holding it together. think its going to make for a nice rugged edc for camping fishing etc. molle locks came with though according to the store site i was purchasing threw they were only supposed to come with a more expensive version. so kinda a bonus, though i have no molle to attach it too. The condor Hudson Bay is quite another thing. i wanted a chopper and these are soooo priced right for a woods knife that your not going to shed tears over getting it muked up a bit. vids ive seen show its a chopping fool, came with a decent edge too. sort of a mix between a ffg and convex. its about 3/16" thick. black coated blade on the sides, that stuff is going bye bye, will get it to bare metal then apply a patina to it. the handle is a little rough though it had a shape that allows it to be held with some confidence that it wont slip out of your hand. still would of been nice to see a lanyard hole in it. maybe ill do that and refinish the handle when i do the blade. anyway, thats some new stuff im messin with.
