I haven't posted any work in a while. Here are two I finished this afternoon. Both pretty good sized knives.

The Black one is full Black Shark Front, with a Dark Brown Shark chevron and black stud. Flat inset Belt loop. The body, of course is Wickett & Craig as is the 2oz leather lining.

The Brown one, also W&C has a Taupe Full Quill Ostrich inlay, and I pebble grained all the leather inside the border, smooth on the outside of the border. Fully leather lined with inset belt loop.

Paul, amazing as always!!
Are you able to take that Shark down to 2oz with your splitter?
Really awesome stuff, thanks for sharing.

Love all that exotic skin. I love your shields too. You really have a way with curves, make it look so easy. You can look at a great knife design and see the experience by the curves, same with your sheaths.

Mark, I was fortunate enough to get 10 (5 black and 5 brown) nice shark hides and all of them were relatively light weight averaging about 3 to 3.5 oz. so splitting for the full front was not necessary. I do hand skive the chevron points down to zero by hand. Good Shark has been a little hard to come by and, of course, with that the price goes up.

Anthony, the Chevrons (sheilds) are all set when the paper pattern is made. You can reshape them as much as you like until your eraser wears out. Then it's all done before you start to cut the leather. If you recall the pattern section of the DVD, you only have to do one side of the curve and then when you fold and trace you get a perfect result. Also if you recall from the DVD, the shape of the sheath and the curves are determined by the tracing of the knife and the shape of the blade. The inside welt margin plus one half inch gives you the shape of the sheath. It's almost automatic, and really shows the value of that paper pattern.

Paul, you ever do wharncliffe sheaths? I'd love to see how you do them. For obvious reasons mine end up looking like a sheath worn on the wrong side. :D

just curious, is there an european retailer carrying the dvds?

I do not know. You can get them at the link in my sig line and I also notice they are listed on Amazon and many of the knife supplies businesses cary them as well.

I don't know of a European distributor. I bought them online through the link in Paul's signature and had them shipped to Germany. Shipping is a little more plus you need to pay customs but the DVD's are definitely worth the hassle.

Thanks, I will do that as well I guess.

Thanks for sharing Paul, always gives me a benchmark to shoot for. And they look downright sexy. I like the inset belt loops too, I don't think I've ever seen any made that way; another example of professionalism. Could I ask are those skived at the ends and sewn in it really looks nice.
