I thought I would show some of my Electrician Pattern knives as there was some recent discussion regarding the various manufacturers.
My Schrade CutCo TL29 <TL stands for Tool -Linemen> has an interesting history. It was taken to England by GI during WW11 and given to lady friend who put in her wardrobe where it lay for next 60 odd years undisturbed until discovered by relatives after her passing. It is as mint as you could find a military issue knife. The Schrade Walden 204S is mint and was still in its original packet from the 50's.Both have clear original blade etches.
I will progressively post photos in line with this forums size limitations.
Trust you find interesting...Hoo Roo

Thanks for sharing.I had one once where one of the blades locked or rather unlocked by pressing the closed blade down to unlock the other one. I think it was a TL-29, can't remember. What kind is the light wood one with the shield?

G'Day Navi, The Light wood with shield is the Schrade Walden 204S <there are 2 pictured>.
The knife second up on second row from left in group photo is the same as the one you had. Its a Schrade CutCo <old> with black cocobola scales. When I first got it no way could I work out how to close it as its different to all the others. You're right, you press down on the closed blade to release the tool blade and unless you work it out you wont move that blade! Hoo Roo

How about the yellow handled Carbolux in the vend-o-pak? Never seen that brand before. Look like it was made by someone else?

I believe SFO made by Schrade for Holub Industries Sycamore Illinois which can be seen on bottom of pak. There was previous discussion about Holub.

:thumbup:Daayum you folks from down under sure have a great collection of USA Schrades:p. Larry how long has it taken to come up w/ all the great examples? I continue to be amazed by your collection, at some point in my life it sure would be a treat to be able to see a collection of that magnitude in the FLESH!!! Not sure of that likleyhood unless a collection gets put in a Museum some where at some point! I know this has been said but IT WAS a CRIME of HUGE MAGNITUDE (IMO):thumbdn: when the factory boards where broken up and sold. It is my understanding there are indivudals working on the preservation of the HISTORY, as a person that LOVES history I hope that it comes together for the next generations will never have the knowledge of this amazing Company without it!!!

Great collection as usual Larry, I REALLY like that 204S! Re. that Holub knife, I just saw the very same knife at an antique store this past weekend and didn't even give it a second look! Duh! Now I believe I'll go back and pick it up:D This way you can chicken eye it without opening that sweet clampacked example;)

Thanks guys,I had a forum member email and tell me he's certain that was his pappy that left that TL29 knife for safe keeping with that English lady.....I replied.. weeell seems he left a little more than the TL29 and he's got twin sisters in Birmingham U.K.!!...who now want to come over and meet him!!
I've got some old Mint Schrade Walden hatchets complete with their knives with leather and staglon handles respectively and I'll put some photos now I've mastered the art of putting photos on. Hoo Roo

Very nice Larry, i have one you press down on the blade also to release it and it has a jigged bone handle,i have'nt seen many bone handled ones.

Great collection, these knives are some of my favorite.
A great cs34 pouch as well, Im looking for one right now. They are not that common over here in Germany ;)
Nice story on the GI TL-29 as well.

Peter

ps: who made the TL-13's in your pouch?

Thanks Stockman, The pliers are marked TL-13-A Krafuter <circular tang mark with USA in the centre>. Hoo Roo

Thats interesting, Ive never seen them, Utica is by far the most common, Palmer Brothers is another one, not as common though.
Thanks Larry
