I'm new to HI. I have some Noob questions..

1. What does YBB mean?
"Bargain buy at $ 70 YBB"

2. Same price for PayPal? Does price include Shipping?

3. Is there a thread on Acronyms? (BDC, YCS, BAS) i know last one is British Army Service!

These are some very interesting knives.
I have been reading about the different khukuris, FAQ, craftsmanship, and some history at http://www.himalayan-imports.com
I think I'd like to try some of these out :)
Thanks.

Good idea to read a lot from the website. Then you should read the FAQ as suggested. Then find 2 or 3 models that would be suitable for your needs and wait for your perfect "deal of the day". Then another one, then another one...

oh look at this. hey tony, good to see you over here. you haven't even recieved your new 10" bowie yet and your already shopping for your second huge chopper? i'll be completely candid here, this would probably merit flaming on the other forum, but i think my HI's are a better deal.

Thanks for the welcome folks. :)

Yep.. my friend Magnum22 mentioned "HI".. and I'm glad I came to look!

The prices are pretty good! I find the old world craftsmanship simply Fascinating! especially in a day & age of CNC automation.. these hand-crafted HI knives are very alluring.

Is there any kind of 'warranty' on these knives?
I've got a lot to learn still.. but I'm glad I found this HI forum.
Cheers :)

Hey Tony, start with a medium sized khuks between 15" and 18". After playing for a while you will know whether you want a bigger or smaller ones. Me, I started with KH 15" Service no. 1 and HI 16.5" WWII. The WWII is still my favorite although I also have 12" Siru & 21" chitlangi.

the ww2 is just so forthcoming as far as khuks go. the 16.5" is the standard so if you're lookin for somethin specific, i guess you could start there. otherwise, i say just watch the deals of the day here and once you see one that speaks to you, pounce. that's what i did and i'm not looking for an upgrade.

These 'Deals of the Day' sound pretty exciting.
How does the "pouncing" work?

First "I'll Take It" post?
..or first E-mail?

First email in I think. Just send an email to Yangdu with the one you want, who you are, your payment method, and shipping info.

It helps to get familiar with what you're interested in from the shopping site so when they show up on the DOTD you're not fiddling around. These guys already know, and when they see what they want, they snag it. Sometimes the for sale thread isn't updated immediately when someone jumps on it, so even though its not marked it could be sold. Best not to hesitate.
