While Mike Snody is rapidly gaining a reputation for Japanese style blades he also makes some not so Japanese like these he calls his Armadillo Skinner. Now, we don't have a big Armadillo problem around here in Pennsylvania, they look like versatile blades and this set are scaled with Mastodan Ivory...

You liked that Ivan? thanks, just wanted to clarify that Mike Snody makes more than just Japanese wrapped style knives, not taking anything away from them as I love them as well and have a small one or order with Horse Menuki underwraps, I was born in the Year of the Horse you see....

Here is another example of Mike Snody's work, he calls these his Carolina Skinners;

Are these from a catalog of his knives? They are AWESOME!

They were in the package I received from Mike, which I thought was very nice of them to send photos to me!

Can't wait to get my knife, should be very handy...

When a photographer keeps a knife from a maker it will tell you something about his quality. There is no way to go wrong with Mike.

Now this may or may not be considered to be Japanese style knives but they are the latest things coming from Mike Snody at this time;
they are a batch of Michael Janich Ronins ready for heat treat. CPM420v, chisel ground, 3'' blade 6.75'' overall.
They will have G-10 handles in black or sand color. There will be two pieces of 3/8'' stainless tubing going thru the handle as well as the 1/4'' thong hole tube. It has serations on the back of the blade to
facilitate the use of the Filipino style grip.
